- Electricity
- The movement of electrons
-
AC
- Alternating Current (found in wall socket-electrons move back and forth
really fast)
-
DC
- Direct Current (Found in batteries)
-
Battery
- turns chemical energy into electrical energy. (ever
see "The Matrix"? What were the batteries there?
-
Generator
- turns mechanical energy into electrical energy
-
Atom
- Small particles that make up
all matter
-
Proton
(p+) - Positively charged particle, found in the nucleus of the atom
- Neutron
(n) - Neutral particle, they have no charge - found in the nucleus chillin'
with the protons.
- Electron
(e-) - Negatively charged particle
that don't get along with the protons and neutrons, so they circle around
the nucleus in their own space(shell).
- Nucleus
- the inner part of an atom(made up of protons and neutrons)
- Shell
- outer part of an atom, the orbit that electrons follow around the nucleus
- Resistance
- opposition to electron flow(like you being opposed to
your teacher giving you 50 homework questions to answer!)
