Making it Fit
IMAGE MANIPULATION

You have been hired by the local zoo to create an online collage based on the images that their photographer has taken. The problem is that the images are not formatted to fit on the page the way that the zoo wants(As seen in the example to the left). Also, the zoo is limiting the total size of the site to 150 KB. Your job is to resize, crop, change image resolution, flip and whatever else you need to do in an image editing program to get the final webpage to look like the example they have provided and keep the total website size under 150 KB. Since screen resolution is 72 pixels per inch(ppi), you should check each image to make sure that they are at the right resolution. The total work area for the web page is roughly 500 x 500 pixels, so the original images will all have to be reduced somewhat to fit into that space. You may want to calculate approximate image sizes based on the dimentions provided with each image below and also add up the total of the file sizes to get an idea on how much space you will need to free up. Right click and select "Save target as..." or "Save image as..." to download these images to a folder on your computer so you can edit them.

List of photos you are given:

skunk 412 x 600 72.8KB
squirrel 400 x 274 39.2KB
